...on the radio as I was working on my blog. I am prone to listening to music on the radio with television on mute with captioning scrolling across the screen. My mail or a magazine in lap, while occasionally turning my attention to a backgammon game I have up in the corner of my notebook screen, or to the paint program I have in the other corner and occasionally will work with that. I like to think of this as multitasking, but it really is more like a fly buzzing around from one crumb or puddle to the next. I find this keeps me from being bored and keeps me from focusing too much on any one thing to the point of headache or oblivion to everything else. It's a little like driving on the interstate and remembering to change position as I drive so as to keep the blood moving about the body and to keep the muscles from seizing up, avoiding the pain of holding the same position too long.
The music had ceased and a commercial had begun. I do not recall what the advertisement was selling, but our brains are hardwired to glean phrases we think are neat or true from a cacophony of inputs from modern life.
Clearly I heard the phrase, "Deficit spending is merely a scheme to confiscate wealth."
So, stop what you are doing, listen up and consider the phrase, "DEFICIT SPENDING IS MERELY A SCHEME TO CONFISCATE WEALTH." This phrase is neat, true and very wise so from the cacophany of modern life I share it with you.
If you are a younger person I leave it to you to ponder whether this confiscation is a good thing or bad thing. I will tell you that You may feel very diferently if you are getting older and are contemplating the prospect of retirement with the specter of inflation that is the result of deficit spending.
