People's Republic of Johnson County. The voting morons of Iowa City have passed their new tax. this will work out badly in the short run because Coralville did not pass the same tax. This will give Coralville a 1% advantage for a while.
In the long term, of course, it will all come to nothing as in time other morons will pass similar new taxes in retaliation of Iowa City's attempted theft. It all comes to zero sum and in the end, more taxes. I have ruled out Cedar Rapids, it has a 2 percent tax to help with flood recovery. I give all my sympathy and My very best regards to all the flood victims, but I do not want to pay the extra on account of not being stupid. All the more reason to shop in Muscatine, I guess.
