...As their economies fail. Because our voters are so enamored of all things European maybe this bodes well for the future here. Providing, of course that we have not damaged ourselves beyond repair with our rapid decline into fascist based socialism.
We have always come back through an irrepressible entrepreneur's spirit and inventiveness. I am afraid our population has been so "dumbed down" that it just isn't there for us any longer. Even our brightest tend to educate themselves in basically non productive pursuits. If we need a mathematician, engineer or scientist we increasingly must turn to China, India and other emerging economic powers who have not given up learning useful things. We, on the other hand have armies of sociologists, drug councilors and criminologists to address the problems of the modern world. These are educational pursuits that were not even offered much at college level 40 years ago. It is a result of sending Barbie and Ken off to college without being able to read and write very well or do basic math. They do know how to put on a rubber properly. They have been forced to sit through problem resolution because the pampered, privileged little ****heads seem to beat on one another a lot almost on a daily basis. Maybe we could send our little Einsteins off to a new sort of Peace Corps to teach the terrorists how to put on a rubber the correct way. If they survive that, send them on to higher education where they might make better choices about what they might study. Hardly a recipe for survival in a world where we are hated, you say.
Hopefully our People, on their own will again choose to ponder and study the hard stuff, the stuff that can bring us back from the brink of social oblivion. There are no other people in the world who will tolerate us just being rich and living our dissipated lifestyles without being just a little productive and adding to the pile just a little bit. I'm here to tell you they won't.
