Hey! Pelosi was right all along...
If everybody lived here we wouldn't have any more enemies, right?
Let's see...all we need is free cell phones, food stamps and lightly used underwear for seven billion people. They would come here in a hot second...we could house them all in Arizona. If we build it (high rise dormitories for billions and billions of new Democrat voters)  they will come...piece of cake.

If you cannot write the news by the time you have a high school diploma...you will never be able to do so, never.

By insisting that newspapers hire only absolutely indoctrinated little nincompoops with a
college degree to write the news...
this is what you get, closed minded ideologues who only report what they agree upon as the news.

Simple minded and college bred journalists cheer lead from the sidelines as we slip into a new form of despotism.

SPEAKING OF THE NEWS...
I have recently become a viewer of local TV news, again. I have for about 25 years ignored it due to delving into satellite venues that I find far more satisfying and stimulating to monitor. After this 25 year hiatus I have returned to occasionally viewing the local stuff. Not much has changed.

I live in what is called small news market (very small). These small markets kinna get what you call 2nd and 3rd round draft picks. The few attractive folks they get last a couple years...then they are tapped by Omaha, Kansas City, or Des Moines. Very few ever make it to the big time. Chicago, New York or Washington D. C. are places that these local newscasters almost never make the cut, and end up in. So, in a small market, If you can stand a fair amount of stammering, nervous ticks, bad make-up...and face it, a fair amount of obesity and just plain ugly. you do end up with folks who do know their market pretty well because they stick around, knowing they will never make it in a large market. They, I guess they would rather be big fish in a small pond and working than give it up entirely.
That they almost never develop a "personality" is probably more a function of  their higher ups. It's strange, because they stick around they end up in management positions and running things, they perpetuate mediocrity. Must be that after years of being encouraged to never offend anybody and always be "local Boosters" they seem to pass this bad habit on down the line to the new folks.

It's not all bad...some of these folks do develop a "personality" when they get older and...uh, more distinguished looking, or so entrenched they hazard forth an occasional opinion.  I recommend occasional viewing of local television news if you can stand an anchor that needs a shave or more make-up on the neck to match the face, maybe a weather man that won't even look the monitor in the eye...let alone you, the local news can be quite entertaining. It remains about as informative (not very) as when I quit watching a quarter of a century ago.

*as far as  the politics of local TV it's generally not a factor as they are encouraged to be non-controversial. They do seem to be college grads and the same critique applies to local TV news people as for real news people (See above entry). It takes as least as long to shed "liberality" as the number of years spend in higher education, or until they are broken into, raped or arrested. A few of them seem to have common-sense from the beginning.
